The Young Punx have been invited to perform with Dizzee Rascal at this year's BBC Electric Proms with further appearances on Radio 1's Live Lounge and Later with Jools Holland booked. Continuing to confound expectations, for BBC Electric Proms Dizzee Rascal delivers his first ever full length live show with the band, plus a horn and string section from the Heritage Orchestra all under the musical direction of The Young Punx' Hal Ritson. The show, a celebration of Dizzee's diverse influences, is expected to be a party set of mash-ups, radical reinterpretations of Rascal favourites plus a few closely guarded surprises.
The guest appearance coincides within a key period for The Young Punx as the gear up to begin promotion on their widely anticipated second album, 'Mashpop & Punkstep'. An EP including the recent collaboration with US Rapper Count Bass D, 'Ready For The Fight', leads the promo and will include remixes from Southern Fried's Black Noise and Young Punx label mate, Phonat.
